High level composite technicians needed for a large aerospace facility in Santa Ana, CA. day shift position with overtime available. Pay will be based on experience and between $30-$45 an hour.
This role involves building, testing, and troubleshooting composite assemblies and sub-assemblies as part of the aerospace composites production process. The position requires efficiency in following standard procedures and specifications, and ensuring the quality of in-process products. The primary responsibility is to build composite structures that meet design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Produce conforming products.
- Re-work identified non-conforming products and submit for re-inspection.
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, manufacturing instructions, and work orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
- Repair, rework, and calibrate assemblies and systems to meet specifications and tolerances.
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor and review processes, materials, and work environment to detect or assess problems.
- Identify and correct common process problems.
- Read and interpret work instructions.
- Prepare and maintain mold surfaces.
- Kit composite materials.
- Perform lamination of pre-preg composite materials.
- Assemble/disassemble molds to yield conforming composite structures.
- Perform vacuum bagging operations of small to medium composite structures.
- Complete trimming/sanding operations, yielding close tolerances, using fixtures and various hand tools.
Essential Skills
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools and machines.
- Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Composite experience in aerospace (5+ years).
- Assembly and fabrication skills.
- Inspection skills.

- Experience in a regulated industry.
- 1+ years of related experience.
- Ability to work under timelines and pressure.
- Ability to perform precision work by hand.
- Good visual acuity.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and in close proximity with others.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62500.00 - $93600.00/yr.
