We are seeking a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing operation and upkeep of office buildings, horticultural facilities and equipment. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on office buildings, facility vehicles, greenhouse systems, irrigation networks, climate control units, and horticultural machinery to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in horticulture.
• Maintain greenhouse automation systems (irrigation controllers, climate sensors, fertigation units, etc.).
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on HVAC, lighting systems, fans, pumps, and motors.
• Completes basic electrical work orders, including 110V/220V AC single-phase circuits through 24V DC for process and controls (such as fuses, sockets, exit signs, and ceiling lights).
• Upkeep the facility vehicles and address issues to ensure proper functionality of golf carts, trucks, tractors, and outdoor utility vehicles.

Preventive Maintenance

• Ensure inventory of parts and tools needed for correct equipment functionalities and repairs.
• Conduct routine checks and scheduled maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
• Lubricate moving parts, replace worn components, and calibrate systems.
• Keep detailed logs of maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs.

Irrigation & Water Systems

• Maintain and repair irrigation infrastructure (drip lines, valves, timers, pressure regulators).
• Monitor water quality and ensure systems are functioning efficiently.
• Detect leaks or malfunctions and perform necessary repairs promptly.

Climate Control & Environmental Systems

• Ensure proper functioning of greenhouse ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
• Monitor climate control software and make adjustments as needed.
• Support energy efficiency goals through regular system evaluations.

Facility Maintenance & General Duties

• Ensure property security by maintaining alarm and surveillance cameras systems
• Code invoices and properly report expenses related to maintenance services and parts purchases.
• Addresses and contributes to the upkeep of Life Safety Operations (including fire suppression systems, fire detection systems, AED equipment, emergency shower, and eyewash equipment).
• Perform carpentry, plumbing, and basic construction tasks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment rooms, walkways, and workstations.
• Assist with seasonal setup/take-down of equipment and infrastructure for marketing events and others.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in agriculture, horticulture, or greenhouse settings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
• Familiarity with greenhouse automation, irrigation, and HVAC systems is a plus.
• Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills to use maintenance logs and digital control systems.
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must have basic computer skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Pay Range: $28-36/hour

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds 15% of the day
• Ability to push/pull up to 10% of the day
• Ability to sit/stand 90% of the day
• Ability to kneel/bend up to 50% of the day
• Ability to reach up to 20% of the day
• Ability to climb/balance up to 5% of the day
• Ability to use hands/fingers 100% of the day
• Ability to work in outdoor and greenhouse environments including 70-90F 80% of the time and 30-50F 10% of the time
